Protecting the environment is a permanent part of our philosophy. This is the reason why we consistently fall below statutory emission values - even the strictest benchmarks- why our production cooling and process water is contained in a closed loop circuit, and why we use only renewable raw materials such as jute and wood for packaging - and as little of those as possible. Production wastes and blue dust are also consistently recycled and returned to the production process. Certified by Lloyd's Registered, we received top grades for all these measures and actions. Our certificate for excellence in environmental protection management meets the strict DIN EN ISO 14001:1996 requirements.

The 10 Balver Zinn Environmental Guidelines

2. We are committed to check and verify the environmental relevancy of our operational processes regularly and to initiate and implement improvements within the scope of our financial and technical abilities.
3. We consider statutory rules, regulations, and other requirements to be mandatory guidelines and strive for a higher level of industrial environmental protection.
4. We strive to prevent negative effects on the environment due to the development and manufacturing of our products and production processes.
5. We strive to develop measures and activities that examine, assess, and successively reduce environmental impacts.

8. Companies conducting activities at our production premises are obligated to comply with all statutory environmental protection rules and regulations.
9. We are in regular contact with the responsible agencies and authorities. This is to contribute to and promote counteracting any unexpected environmental stresses and impacts with suitable measures and actions early on.
10. We support open communication processes with all societal groups and collaborate with associations and other organizations in the area of environmental protection.

Controlled Recycling

Balver Zinn offers its customers a special recycling service: Technical consulting and support concerning all aspects of metal scrap and waste disposal, storage, as well as transport logistics. This also includes providing leak proof and tamper-proof containers as specified by law to be used for storing metalliferous residues until ready for recycling and transport.

As a leading manufacturer of anodes and solders, Balver Zinn has an official metal recycling permit. Buyers from all of Europe - primarily the electronics and galvanization industry – trust Balver Zinn with their residues.

We ensure that nothing is disposed of that cannot be returned to the production cycle. Directly on site or at other recycling facilities. And we make sure that our recycling is monitored and supervised by certified metallurgists.
